I want it known that I do not have any family here in South Africa. My children died in Angola from illness. The rest of my family died in battle and I fled to South West with my husband, Katunga. He is all I have here. I left everything else behind.
I remember little about my childhood. I do not remember any stories. I do not remember feeling fear and seeing the Swapos coming from the bush and dragging my family away to murder them. I try not to think about this war.
Im glad to be here on this new farm. In the Schmidtsdrift camp it was very bad. When it rained our tents went wet. When it was hot we burnt. I do not dream or think about the future because I cannot see it. If I have enough today it is good.
I want to say that it is my work that sustains my life. When I paint I feel good. I draw just what comes into my mind. I like draw nature, patterns, animals, trees, seeds
